Today the Northern capital celebrates St. Petersburg Industry Day for the fourth time. Alexander Beglov, the Acting Governor, congratulated industry workers on their professional holiday.
The mayor noted that our city has been developing as an industrial center of Russia since its foundation. The first steamers, steam locomotives and battleships were built in St. Petersburg.
“The industry has always been our shield, and during the blockade it not only withstood the siege, but also fought. You are heirs of those who worked in those difficult years,” said Alexander Beglov. He thanked veterans of the industry and all those who work in the industry today, for preserving the traditions of Leningrad and St. Petersburg, which have passed the test of time.
The Head of the city presented employees of enterprises with Certificates of Honor and Acknowledgments of the Governor of St. Petersburg.
Music band Lyube performed their new song dedicated to our city at the concert.
St. Petersburg Industry Day is celebrated on September 10 – this day in 1704 Peter the Great founded the first industrial enterprise of St. Petersburg – Admiralty Shipyards.
