Each citizen of St. Petersburg will get a personal electronic medical account.

Governor Alexander Beglov announced this after inspection of the Vyborg district.

According to him, one of the most important tasks of city health care is the introduction of electronic medical records in all medical institutions and the creation of a common information system so that each resident can have their own personal account, while database is available to clinics and hospitals.

“We have already reserved a certain amount of money in budget and we will implement this project step by step. I expect that in the next 3-4 years we will give up paper documents”, – said the mayor. He pointed out that it will be possible to make an appointment with a doctor using a card of St. Petersburg citizen.

“In the future, we plan to connect private medical institutions, as well as federal ones located in the city, to the database. This will allow to optimize city budget funds and involve maximum of all medical institutions of St. Petersburg,” said Alexander Beglov.
